There’s no perfect moment in PR. You must capitalise on all your chances.
So we were impressed with Havana’s Potti Wagstaff comments when asked about what Wellington Mayor Tory Whanau was doing in his bar. He took advantage of the media frenzy to remind people that hospitality has, and still is, doing it tough. He said Council should be focused on ‘fixing infrastructure, not vanity projects’, and that everything needed to be reassessed ‘as of today’.
It was a killer message that media would never cover if he told them at any other time.
